Alan Lewandowski

This campaign is about listening to residents, supporting local businesses, strengthening neighborhoods, and making thoughtful decisions that move Port Huron forward.

Our Port Huron

A city of neighbors, water, and hard work.

Port Huron sits where Lake Huron narrows into the St. Clair River — the Maritime Capital of the Great Lakes and Michigan's gateway to Canada. It's a city of freighter horns and Friday nights, lighthouse beaches and family-run storefronts, and roughly 28,000 people who look out for each other. This campaign starts with them.

Meet Alan

A mayor who shows up.

Alan Lewandowski believes the best ideas for Port Huron come from the people who live here. He isn't running to talk at voters — he's running to listen, learn, and advocate from the neighborhoods up.

From downtown shops to local parks, from first responders to young families, Alan is focused on what actually makes life better in Port Huron.

What Gets Better

Putting Port Huron first.

Safe Neighborhoods
Champion police, fire, and first responders so every family feels secure in every neighborhood.
Strong Local Businesses
Work with Council and the city manager to make it easier for small businesses to open, grow, and hire — because a thriving Main Street lifts the whole city.
Cleaner Streets & Parks
Champion investment in the places where families gather, kids play, and neighbors connect — from parks to sidewalks.
Listening Before Deciding
City Hall should hear residents first. Alan believes the best council decisions start with the people they affect.
Responsible Spending
Advocate for budgets that treat taxpayer dollars with care — prioritizing essentials, cutting waste, and investing where it matters most.
Investing in the Next Generation
Champion opportunities for young people to stay, work, raise families, and build a future right here in Port Huron.
Safe Walking & Biking
Push for connected sidewalks, marked bike lanes, safer crossings, and a route network that links neighborhoods to the river, Pine Grove Park, and downtown — so walking or biking is a real, safe choice for every age.
A Downtown Worth Walking
Champion street trees, planters, lighting, murals, and public art along Huron Avenue — especially the blocks that get overlooked — so residents want to stroll toward the water and visitors say "wow" about the whole downtown.
Standing With Working Families
A UAW member and two-time union steward, Alan will keep faith with the working people who built this city — fair wages, safe workplaces, and a seat at the table for organized labor.

Leadership Matters

Leadership isn't a title. It's a habit.

In Port Huron, the mayor is the presiding member of City Council, with one vote and the responsibility to help set the agenda. The mayor can't act alone — and shouldn't. Alan believes leadership is building consensus among council members, partnering with the city manager and city staff, and turning the good ideas residents share into real action.

"Leadership is showing up when it isn't convenient, telling people the truth, and doing what you said you'd do."— Alan Lewandowski
Listen first
Real leadership starts with showing up and hearing residents out — before the council takes a vote, not after.
Set a clear direction
A council moves when everyone knows the plan. Alan will set priorities in plain language and work to build consensus around them.
Own the vote
Leadership means explaining the votes he takes, standing by the hard calls, and answering for the results.
Follow through
Promises are easy. Alan measures leadership by what actually gets built, fixed, and finished — together.

Labor & Working Families

Union built. Union backed.

Alan is a UAW member who has served twice as a union steward for his coworkers. He knows what it means to sit across the table and fight for people's wages, safety, and dignity — and he'll bring that same respect for working families to City Hall.

Port Huron works because its tradespeople, first responders, teachers, and plant workers show up every day. Alan is proud to ask for the support of the unions that represent them.

  • Proud UAW member
  • Elected UAW union steward — twice
  • Elected by coworkers to lead their union

Union & Working Families

Endorsements that mean something.

Alan is honored to seek the support of Port Huron's local unions and working families. From skilled trades to first responders, educators, and public employees, he believes the people who keep this city running deserve a mayor who listens to them first.

Endorsements will be announced as they are confirmed by the campaign and each organization. If your union or labor organization would like to stand with this campaign, add your support below.
